Our Wish List

Gas cards or Grocery cards for the Housing office

Customers come to our Housing office seeking shelter, sometimes permanent and sometimes temporary. If we can help them, the families still need help with transportation and food. Can you donate a gift card to the Housing office. They can assist the families that are trying meet their most basic needs.

You can also assist by providing bus passes.

See our April 2009 Donor Communique about our Partnership with Adobe to raise money for bus passes.

Bilingual volunteers

All throughout our agency, we provide assistance, guidance and support in English and Spanish. Are you bilingual? You can help us in the Welcome Center, Joblink, Housing and the education programs. There are some requirements that you may need to meet for these roles, but we would love to have you join us.

Office supplies

Seems silly, but we use LOTS of pens in the Welcome Center. Do you have a box of ball point pens? We can put them to use!

Survival Sack Donations Needed

We need some help putting together Survival Sacks for our homeless customers. If you are interested in learning more about our Survival Sack program, please click here to download a brochure.

Recyclables - Egg Cartons, Rubber Bands, and Bags

We also always need clean and serviceable egg cartons, rubber bands, and paper & plastic grocery bags. These can be left at our donation drop off location described below."

How Community Drives Impact Our Mission

In 2004, Sacred Heart Community Service received approximately 6 millions dollars worth of in-kind donations. These in-kind donations included: food, clothing, shoes, bedding, new toys, school supplies and backpacks. Hundreds of organizations, schools, churches, businesses and individuals chose to sponsor drives that benefited our customers. In-kind donations are a critical element to the success of our work. These donations enable us budgetary and programmatic flexibility, allowing us to continue to meet the growing needs of our increasing customers base. We greatly appreciate your support. Those in our community who struggle to make ends meet consider your in-kind donations necessary.

Sacred Heart Community Service recognizes the impact that our community has in reaching our vision. When you get involved by sponsoring a drive for us, you are contributing more than a simple donation. You are impacting our community in an economical sense that is not often thought about. Your donations could end up in the City landfill, but you chose to recycle them through our organization. Your donations have a huge impact to assisting our low-income neighbors. Many thanks for your continued support!

Sponsor a Community Drive with your neighborhood, organization or business. To get more information, call our Community Outreach number at (408) 278-2163 or email us at drives@sacredheartcs.org.
